Famous on Facebook?

Its well known that some of the profiles on social networking sites like Myspace and Facebook aren’t completely ‘bona fide’ but what happens when they are the online calling card of the rich and famous?

The BBC recently reported on one such incidence when Stephen Fry’s Facebook account brought all kinds of so-called friends out of the woodwork. You can read the story over on the BBC website here.Unsurprisingly, Mr Fry was inundated with friend requests and although he initially tried to oblige, was later unable to meet all the new fans virtually in-person(!)

Social networking sites may allow friends to keep in touch however its interesting to see that they still do not allow people with profile to openly interact with fans without the usual crowd control issues which blight them in the physical world too.
